Eyebright - 50 ml
Eyebright relieves minor eye inflammations such as watery eyes (caused by allergies), conjunctivitis, blepharitis, excessive sensitivity to light and eyestrain.

Each ml contains: Fresh wild Eyebright herb tincture (f) (Euphrasia officinalis). Alcohol content = 65% v/v

Dosages:

  • INTERNAL USE
    Adults:     take 15 drops in a small amount of water, 3-5 times daily, 15 minutes before meals. Salivate before swallowing.
    Children: according to the recommendations of a health professional.
  • EXTERNAL USE
    Gently massage the affected area (ex. eyelid) with a drop of Eyebright tincture or apply a compress made with Eyebright tincture diluted in water. Do not use directly in the eye.

Facts: Eyebright contains iridoid glycosides (including aucubin), tannins (probably responsible for its astringent effect), phenolic acids and a volatile oil.

Eyebright is listed in the unapproved herbs section in the German Commission E to be used for all inflammatory disorders of the eyes, eyelids and conjunctiva; as a preventive measure against mucus and catarrh of the eyes.

Contraindication: known allergy to Eyebright. Eyebright tincture should never be used as eye drops. Its alcohol content would be too irritating for the eyes. Oral use is not indicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Contact a physician if the condition does not improve within a few days.
